Fall is in the air. And you know what that means...
Pumpkins, special coffees, boots and cozy sweaters and a change for your skincare routine.
Our skin changes from season to season.
We should make changes to our skincare products like we change our outfits.
However, when I'm speaking with clients this is an often forgotten step of their normal season changing routine.
Here are a few top tips for transitioning from summer to fall.
1. Be sure to Moisturize more.
The heat and humidity that come with summer can make you feel like you have to hydrate less even though you should still be doing so daily.
However, as the air drys out, you'll want to moisturize your skin more.
If you aren't already using ETHYST® Daily Ritual 24/7 Moisturizer, you should. You can use it all year long.
And don't forget to protect and hydrate your lips and under eyes!
2. Add a nourishing serum to your routine if you haven't already!
A hydrating serum adds incredible benefits to your skin.
ETHYST® Transcendence does it all!
This formula powerfully improves, restores, and nourishes the skin's moisture barrier, hydrates the skin, protects against aging, and fights hyperpigmentation!
Vitamin C is an excellent antioxidant to be using all year long.
Vitamin C helps to combat hyperpigmentation, improve the appearance of lines and helps with collagen production.
A true staple to everyone's skincare routine.
3. Continue to use sunscreen regularly.
Many clients, from all over the country, have told me they believe if they put sunscreen on in the morning, they are good to go.
They also believe summertime is the time for sunscreen.
WRONG!
Applying sunscreen once doesn't protect you all day.
And sunscreen needs to be used all year long.
You should reapply about every 2 hours.
Carry your sunscreen with you when you're going to be outside for an extended period of time (maybe when you're visiting one of those epic Fall Fairs!)
ETHYST® Sanctuary Tinted Mineral SPF 40 is by far one of the best sunscreens out there.
Not only does it protect from UVA and UVB rays like a broad spectrum sunscreen would, it also contains Vitamins E and C.
Plus, it's a Zinc Oxide/Titanium Dioxide blend (mineral based), which many more people can use without having a negative reaction and is better for you.
4. Don't forget about your hands and feet.
Foot peels and hand creams are your best friend.
Dried out hands and feet are no fun.
Be sure to prep and protect them for the harsher winter weather.
Our Herbal Peppermint Foot Scrub will prep your feet for all of the excellent hydrators like the super absorbing, non-greasy Tallow Balm!
5. Be sure to check in with your Esthetician!
While these are some great general tips for taking your skin from the bright and cheery days of summer to the twinkle light nights of fall, you can always check in with me, your trusty Esthetician, to ensure the changes you're making to your skincare routine are right for you.
Your Esthetician will know what you've been working on and trying to achieve and be able to help you make the best decisions possible for your skin.
